Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a Referral?
No, a referral isn’t necessary. However, if you have one bring it along, together with any other relevant information.
Can I use my Private Health Insurance?
Yes, as long as your insurance covers physiotherapy. You will be provided with a receipt following your consultation that you can submit via your health fund’s online claim service.
Do you bulk bill?
We do accept GP Management Plans / Team Care Arrangements. However, these appointments are not bulk billed so there is a gap fee to be paid. You will need to pay for the service in full and then you will be reimbursed the Medicare rebate into your bank account. The current Medicare rebate (as of July 2022) is $58.00 per consult for physiotherapy services.
Where are you located?
My clinic is in Wodonga. I work out of Nurture Midwifery Care, which is located just off High St adjacent to the Woolworths Carpark. Our address is 1/123-125 High St, Wodonga 3690
What is the cancellation policy?
We understand that sometimes unforeseen circumstances may arise, but we kindly request that you provide us with at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows us to offer the time slot to other clients who may be waiting. A $50 fee applies for late cancellations or no shows.
What days are you available?
I am currently working Thursday and Friday at The Nest Physio. However, if you cannot find a time please get in touch to see if we can find an alternative time.
I’ve had my (Pelvic floor/ bladder/ bowel/ knee…..) issue for years, have I left it too long to get help?
The short answer is no. In most cases there is always something that can be done to assist, manage or resolve your issue. It is very common for people to put off seeking help particularly for a pelvic health issue due to feeling embarrassed or feeling there is no hope. At the end of their session many clients will say they wished they had sort help sooner.
Can I still have a pelvic health assessment when I have my period?
Yes you can. This is up to the individual, if you feel comfortable we are happy to still assess you.
When should I see a physio after having my baby?
Generally, anytime from 6 weeks postnatal for a pelvic floor assessment. However, some women may require assistance earlier for back or pelvic pain, mobility or continence issues. For individualised recommendations, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
I’ve had a caesarean delivery, should I still see a Physiotherapist?
Yes! A postnatal check with a Physiotherapist is still important. Your pelvic floor, abdominals and whole body have gone through significant changes whether you have had a caesarean or vaginal delivery.
Can I bring my baby to the clinic?
Definitely! We are more than happy for you to bring your baby along. We understand what it is like to have children and how difficult it can be to find time to come to an appointment solo. If your baby is unsettled during an appointment, it’s ok. We will work it out and there is often someone willing to help settle a baby if needed.
Do you treat General Physiotherapy conditions?
Yes, Sarah is experienced at treating all areas of the body working as a physiotherapist in private practice for over 15 years. She has a special interest in the management of spinal and pelvic pain and is trained in Clinical Pilates and Dry Needling
Can Physiotherapists refer for imaging?
Yes, a physiotherapist can refer you for an X-ray that in most cases will be bulk-billed through Medicare. They can also refer you for an MRI or ultrasound, however, you will not receive any rebate for these if referred by a Physiotherapist.
